Acupuncture We all have a complex system of channels which flow throughout our body distributing energy, or life force, to all of our tissues.  Health problems arise when there is an obstruction in the flow of life force or an imbalance in the bipolar components of this flow. Acupuncture involves the insertion of sterile, disposable needles at specific points in specific patterns. Acupuncture can improve circulation and decrease inflammation, and restore the energetic balance in the body stimulating the healing process Debi Sawchuk, R.Ac., - Registered Acupuncturist.  Debi started her studies in acupuncture after personally experiencing relief from fibromyalgia through acupuncture treatments.  She has experience treating women's health issues, eating disorders, musculo-skeletal pain, migraines and sciatica.  Consults and treatment packages available.

Reflexology: With a basis in both eastern and western medicine, reflexology applies trigger point therapy to the reflex arcs in the feet clearing the meridians through the entire body, accessing and releasing restrictions in the systems and functions of the body.  Barbara Remus - Reflexologist.
Cindy Konski, Holistic Health Practitioner and Reflexologist

Reiki: An ancient healing technique that transmits spiritually guided life force energy through the hands. A session benefits the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit, resulting in feelings of relaxation, peace, security and wellbeing. For relaxation, stress management, insight and healing. This treatment is given on a treatment table with the client fully clothed and the therapist placing their hands on or above the body to stimulate balanced energy flow.

Massage The following styles of massage are offered at Yoga for Today by our outstanding team of 4 therapists, all Registered Massage Therapists.  Scroll down for information on our therapists.

  • Relaxation Massage: slow, rhythmic, repetitive massage strokes encompassing the whole body. The goals of a relaxation massage are to instill a sense of balance between your mind and body, allowing our innate healing potential to surface. A quiet and meditative experience, often accompanied by soft music and a scented oil, a relaxation massage is a perfect choice to counteract today’s hectic pace.
  • Therapeutic Massage: specific treatments, such as trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and soft tissue manipulation will be applied to address specific problems. Often a therapeutic massage will be part of a treatment plan. Appropriate to relieve muscle tension, muscle cramping or muscle spasm. Therapeutic massage improves circulation, is an excellent means of pain management, hastens healing, and reduces scar tissue. Therapeutic Massage can be an invaluable tool in the healing journey.
  • Craniosacral Therapy: A gentle, soft touch technique that allows the body to take itself into any restriction related to the central nervous system and release them in a safe, pain free and honored manner. Craniosacral therapy can be combined with massage or a healing treatment on its own.
